What does ZuRoma Mean!
ZuRoma was the name of an Italian social club in Dallas. The original founders named the club after the women in their families, Zula, Rosalie and Marguerite. The long running men's club met at a number of locations throughout the years.
The club's meeting place during the 60s and 70s was on Skillman Road near Lake Highlands High School. Situated back in the woods on several acres, the wooden house was a gathering place for some of Dallas' prominent Italians and their guests. On meeting nights, you could find the men cooking, drinking and playing cards - all the things they could not do at home.
